Company adds to best business practices for reducing environmental impact by offering archival quality and acid-free recycled paper to its customers
SEATTLE, WA, April 22, 2009 — RPI (www.rpiprint.com), a leader in automated, mass-customized manufacturing and fulfillment for the consumer print-on-demand market, today announced the availability of environmentally friendly paper products. A full line of recycled, acid-free and archival quality paper is now being offered to the company’s broad range of blue chip retail and online photo publishing customer base. This is the latest step in RPI’s eco-friendly business policies, which already include the elimination of harsh chemicals from manufacturing processes and the institution of lean manufacturing techniques to reduce raw material waste.
Tiny Prints (www.tinyprints.com), a leading online retailer of premium, personalized stationery, was among the first to offer RPI’s line of premium recycled paper as a printing option.
“When we looked to expand our manufacturing capabilities in 2008, we were committed to finding a partner whose core values aligned with ours,” said Mak Azadi, Chief Operations Officer for Tiny Prints. “RPI’s focus on eco-friendly business policies made them an ideal fit as we continue to transition even more of our collection onto recycled paper.”
RPI’s environmentally friendly line is milled with renewable green energy and is FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) approved, acid-free and of high archival quality using up to 100 percent post-consumer waste. Other characteristics include:
“RPI supports environmentally-conscious consumer initiatives,” said Traci Pichette, RPI vice president, product management and marketing. "Earth Day is the perfect occasion to join our customers such as Tiny Prints in a united effort to make recycled materials more readily available, and to do so with choices that measure up to our high standards of product quality and excellence.”
